Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup white wine
- Juice of one lime
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ stick of butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Shrimp
In a large cast-iron skillet, heat ½ tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until they’re no longer pink. Transfer the shrimp to a plate. - Sauté the Garlic
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. - Add Liquids and Spices
Pour in the white wine, lime juice, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until about ¾ of the liquid evaporates. - Finish the Sauce
Lower the heat and add the butter. Swirl the skillet until the butter melts, then stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper. - Combine and Serve
Return the shrimp to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 1 minute. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
Reheating Tips
- Oven: Place shrimp in an oven-safe dish with any leftover sauce, cover with foil, and heat in a preheated oven at 275°F for 8 – 10 minutes.
- Skillet: Heat the skillet before adding shrimp and sauce, cooking for about 3 minutes. Add a splash of water to keep the shrimp moist.
- Microwave: Place the shrimp and sauce in a microwave-safe dish with a splash of water. Heat for 1 minute, then in 30-second intervals until warmed through.
Cooking Tips
- Ensure the skillet and oil are hot to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
- If you prefer less tartness, use juice from only half a lime.
- Avoid browning the garlic, as it can become bitter.
- Once butter is added, do not boil the sauce to keep it silky.
